        Park and Recreation Updates:  Roseann
  • Signs updates:   Main sign scheduled to be completed and delivered prior to May 1,
  • Signs for Agility Course and Splash Pad and Rules;  same date.
  • BRICK Campaign:  Update to website and FB, links to BRUS.com, in action.
  • RULES:  Were approved by the Town insurer and Committee (1/27/14)
  • Olivia monument update:  No confirmation of size or target date, or cost, family will be in touch with us.
  • Eagle Scout project proposal:  K Simonds reported no feedback from Scout, we have
  • set a May 1 install date as maximum allowed.
  • Upcoming Events
Grand Opening Ceremony:  save the date  5/3/14; 11AM  rain date 5/4/14; 1:30 PM
Committee members voiced strong opinion to keep it separate, ahead of SYM.
Parking at Reed School ?  Only Handicap and Shelter attendees allowed past top of the hill.
Options to have dogs pull the ribbon, or cut it are in the works.  Refreshments for both
people and dogs, seating and must have music and PA system!  Invites being
designed by K Jaeckel and will be sent to a select list, other announcements will be on
Constant Contact and Facebook.   Speakers; Amy M & Roseann R and Pat L.   
Limited seating on the cement pad in the park, attendees allowed through gate but held back
from the remainder of the park until the official ribbon ceremony.  Need rope or ribbon to contain them.
Invitees: List being built: Include retired Commission and Committee members, FFH Commission?
Demo of Agility Equip with Carole and Abigale and more info from Pat and Peg, Splash Pad is not planned to be running until later that month, a test may be available for this occasion.  R Reggiano suggested we give Parks Dept the month of April to clean up the mesh, set bricks and signs; in effect CLOSE the PARK for this month and let the grass grow!

  • Goody bags:  Use of green 2010 dog tags for a token of our appreciation being pursued by R Reggiano, we would like to commemorate the day by having them say  Park and Bark 2014 on the back, we also need chain and connectors to make them usable.
Notification and invite to Shelter employees, they may want to coordinate an Open House
on this day as well.  No outside vendors at this event.

STRUTT YOUR MUTT  2014
  • When:  5/31/14  rain or shine   11-2
  • Where:  Starting at Park and Bark,
  • How Much:   $10 for the first dog, $5 for each additional.  One Wristband per dog to be worn by owner.
  • Theme:  TBD
  • How long: Set up at 9 with Vendors inside the fence. Registration at 10:30. Food Vendor outside front of park needs to be up and running by 11:00.
    Open Gates at 11AM, Agility demo at 11:15,  Splash Pad demo at 11:30-11:45.  Then at NOON  gather and walk around the corn fields.  Return about 12:25
